Add new project page

All project pages have the same structure and layout. The most easy way to create a new project page is to use a template and fill in the content.

To add a new page open the 'New Page'-dialog

  1. Hoover on them menu-item 'Pages' on top of the page. If you don't see it you are not logged in or you don't have the right to create new pages.
  2. Click on 'Add New Page'. This wil open the dialog.

Set properties of page

Set the general properties of the page.

 

  1. Open tab 'Page Details'
  2. Enter the name of the page. This usually is the name of the project.
  3. Enter the title of the page. This usually is the name of the project.
  4. Enter a short description of the page. This can be show in a page summary.

The location of the page in the portal is determined by the parent page and the order of the sibling pages. The order of the siblings (i.e. all project pages) in the top menu is overruled. An alphabetical order is used.

The default layout and content of a page is determined by a template. This template is only used when the page is created.

  1. Choose the parent page. In the top menu the page will be a sub-item of the parent-item. Use Projects for a project-page.
  2. Choose the location of the page among its siblings. Select a sibling (this page is added to the end as it is a demo page).
  3. Select the folder of the template.
  4. Select the template. As of this writing two templates are available: ProjecTemplate for an english page, ProjectTemplateNL for a dutch page. Only the language of the default content differs.
  5. Inlcude the page in the menu.

Set the security of the page.

  1. Select the 'Permissions' tab
  2. Give view- and edit-rights to the ProjectContributers group
  3. Give view- and edit-rights to the Taskforce Promitie
  4. Don't give the view right to the 'All Users' group yet. The page will be hidden for all users except members of both groups mentioned above. Only when the page is finished give the 'All Users' group the right to view the page.

And add the page.

Default content of new project page.

The newly created page will contain the following content.

  1. A module to show the logo of the project. The logo is centered. No module title is shown.
  2. A module to show the general information about the project including links to the login- and webforms-page of the project
  3. A module to show announcements. The announcements are orderd most recent on top. An experation date can be given.
  4. A module to allow users to download project-specific documents.
  5. A list of contactpersons.
